The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, held talks today with the newly appointed Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, on enhancing regional integration and joint activities, as well as current initiatives within the framework of the RCC.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia remains a sincere and constructive partner within the Council, committed to fostering an environment that reflects the aspirations of the people of the region—an environment rooted in cooperation and friendship, free from barriers and administrative obstacles that disrupt daily life, divide families, and hinder economic activity.

He underscored Serbia’s dedicated support for the establishment of a Common Regional Market—an initiative that would enable significantly faster economic growth and facilitate access to the European market.

The meeting also addressed topics such as the green transition, digital integration, and infrastructure projects, as well as the opportunities presented by the organization of the specialized Expo 2027, particularly in terms of strengthening economic connectivity in the region.

The Serbian Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the Regional Cooperation Council and the European Union, especially in the context of the European integration process, which, he noted, should remain a guiding principle in the Council’s political engagement.
