Minister Dacic meets with the Foreign Minister of The Gambia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia, Mamadou Tangara, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The Serbian Foreign Minister assessed that the relations between the two countries were traditionally friendly and expressed the hope that, after this visit, a more concrete cooperation would commence in areas of mutual interest, especially in the fields of the economy, agriculture and the IT sector.

Speaking about the current situation in our southern province, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic emphasized that the preservation of cultural, historical and religious heritage in Kosovo and Metohija was extremely important for Serbia, while being one of the most sensitive issues for our country and the Serbian people, and that, in this context, Serbia expected the understanding of the Republic of The Gambia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia Mamadou Tangara expressed his gratitude for the friendly welcome and highlighted the commitment of The Gambia to developing cooperation with Serbia.
