Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia expresses its profound sorrow over the tragic death of Serbian national Stefan Ivanović, who lost his life in a heroic act while rescuing others during a devastating fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort in Switzerland.
His courage and selflessness will remain a lasting memory and a true example of humanity.
We note with deep respect the solidarity shown by citizens and organizations, as well as their willingness to assist the family of the young man who tragically lost his life.
At the same time, we inform the public that the Government of the Republic of Serbia, through the competent institutions, had already expressed its readiness and offered full assistance regarding the organization of the transport of the mortal remains to the homeland.
The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Switzerland remains in constant and direct contact with the family of the late Stefan Ivanović, providing all available support during these exceptionally difficult moments.
