Note:

Visa is required for the holder of an emergency travel document in transit.

 

ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Visas are required, including for holders of an emergency travel document in transit. The validity period of the passport for travel must be 6 months from the date of planned entry. Additionally, there must be two blank pages in the passport when entering the country. Currently, a negative PCR-test result is required to enter or leave the country by plane. Tourists without it will be placed in hospital centres for at least 10 days at their expense.

SOCIAL SECURITY AGREEMENT
No social security agreement has been concluded.

USEFUL INFORMATION

HEALTH SITUATION – Travellers visiting Malawi do not require prior vaccination unless they are arriving from a region with the risk of malaria or yellow fever, according to the regulations of the World Health Organization.

SECURITY SITUATION – The usual safety precautions are advised. Thefts are possible, so personal belongings, especially of higher value, should be kept safe, not left in a vehicle even if parked outside a guarded parking lot, or out of sight.

TRANSPORT – In order to drive a motor vehicle, in addition to a national driver's license, it is necessary to have an international driver's license.
