ENTERING AND LEAVING THE COUNTRY
Holders of Serbian passports are required a visa. For visas and information please contact the Embassy of Nicaragua in Vienna.
Visa or tourist pass may not be obtained at border crossing.
Amounts exceeding $ 10,000 must be reported, and a $ 43 fee is payable on departure from Nicaragua (check with the airline to see if the fee is included in the purchase of the ticket or must be paid when leaving Nicaragua).
A permit is required for hunting weapons.
Pets are allowed subject to presenting a certificate from a Serbian veterinary institution on the health status and vaccination against rabies.
Bringing dairy products into Nicaragua is not allowed.

No social security agreement has been concluded.
USEFUL INFORMATION
HEALTH SITUATION — The general sanitary conditions are good. There are no mandatory vaccines or recommended vaccinations. It is recommended to take out travel health insurance.
It is advisable to use bottled water and avoid street food stands.
SECURITY SITUATION — The crime risk is high, so added attention is advised. It is not recommended to carry large amounts of cash or pieces of jewellery.
It is recommended to carry a copy of a valid identity document at all times, as the Nicaraguan authorities may request them at any time and retain those without identity documents.
There is a risk of earthquakes and frequent and heavy rains. The rainy season lasts from May to October. Light clothing is recommended throughout the year.
TRANSPORT — The main airport is the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport, and the most important port is the Port of Sandino. There is no railway. The main road is the Pan-American Highway.
Motor vehicles may be operated with the Serbian driving license, but it requires taking out a liability insurance policy when entering the country.
OTHER INFORMATION — The local currency is Nicaraguan córdoba (NIO). All international credit cards are accepted. The only official foreign exchange centre is located at the international airport.
