Political relations
Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Holy See were qualitatively enhanced by the official visit of the then President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to the Vatican on 12 September 2019. On that occasion, President Vučić was received in an audience by the then Pope Francis and held talks with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The then Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, visited the Holy See on 18–19 October 2021 and held separate bilateral meetings with the Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Holy See, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher. Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher visited the Republic of Serbia from 20 to 23 November 2021.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total trade in goods with Vatican City in 2025 amounted to EUR 14 thousand, of which the entire amount related to exports from the Republic of Serbia, while imports were absent.
Bilateral agreements
Agreement on Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Holy See in the Field of Higher Education, signed on 27 June 2014.
