Political relations
Political relations are traditionally good and friendly with no open issues. There is an interest expressed on both sides for the enhancement of a high and top-level political dialogue and for the development of bilateral cooperation, with an emphasis on trade and economic relations. In the last few years, the political dialogue has significantly intensified.
The President of the Republic of Serbia A. Vučić visited Kazakhstan on 9−10 October 2018, by invitation of former President N. Nazarbayev. Former President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia M. Gojković participated in the the Fourth Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries' Parliaments on 23−24 September 2019, in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), where Mrs. Gojković met with the President of the Mazhilis (the lower house) of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nigmatulin.
Former First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia I. Dačić paid a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan on 11 December 2017.
Economic relations
According to the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total trade in goods with Kazakhstan in 2025 amounted to EUR 813.0 million, of which exports from the Serbia accounted for EUR 67.3 million, while imports amounted to EUR 745.7 million.
Serbia exports to Kazakhstan aluminium structures and parts, floor tiles, wooden furniture, elevators, pneumatic tires for automobiles, paper and cardboard, fruit seedlings, medicines, etc. Kazakhstan exports to Serbia gas, fuel and lubricants, beans and green beans, flax seeds, etc.
Bilateral agreements
Up to now, 21 international legal acts have been entered into by and between Serbia and Kazakhstan and there is a plan to sign a few more inter-government agreements. The most important are as follows:
Free Trade Agreement, Agreement on Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments,Agreement on Cooperation in Fight against Crime, Visa Waiver Agreement.
