Political relations

Political relations are traditionally close and friendly.

In 2016, the former President of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolić, awarded the Medal of the Republic of Serbia to the President of Zimbabwe at the time, Robert Mugabe.

Former Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dačić, in the capacity of an emissary of the President of the Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, attended the state funeral of the former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, on 14 September 2019. The Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe, Jacob Mudenda, and the President of the Senate, Mabel Chinomona, participated in the 141th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which was held in Belgrade in October 2019.

 

Economic relations

In 2020, the value of export from Serbia to Zimbabwe amounted to 141,000 euros, and import from Zimbabwe to 1,965,000 euros

In 2019, the value of export from Serbia to Zimbabwe amounted to 280,000 euros, and import from Zimbabwe to 1,539,000 euros. The Energoprojekt company carries out its activity in Zimbabwe.

Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Federal Executive Council of the Assembly of SFRY and the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe
