Ambassador Bradić: No quarantine for people coming from Serbia
In the past few days, after the incomplete news about the removal from the red list was published, the Embassy of Serbia in Bern received a large number of calls and e-mails with a request to clarify the conditions for coming to Switzerland.
"Tourist travel is still not possible. Removal from the red list allows our people who are residents to return to Switzerland from Serbia without having to go to a ten-day quarantine, which they could end after the seventh day by performing a test at their own expense", Bradić explained for Tanjug.
There are two lists in Switzerland, related to the conditions of entry into the country.
One is a list issued by the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) that determines whether a region, territory or a country is on the red list in accordance with the incidence every 14 days and other criteria.
The second list is determined by the Federal Secretariat for Migration, which determines the conditions for entering Switzerland after traveling to other countries.
BAG has decided to remove Serbia from the red list, but the Federal Secretariat for Migration still "keeps" Serbia on the list of countries from which it is not possible to enter, if you do not have a residence in Switzerland.
"People who come from Serbia to Switzerland, and have a residence, no longer need to be quarantined and do not need a negative PCR test, unless they are traveling by air, because airlines require a negative test", Bradić repeated.
He also pointed out that travel for private purposes, without residence, is possible only with extremely justified purposes, such as medical treatment, an urgent business meeting and the like.
Removal from the BAG red list makes it easier for citizens of Serbian origin to return to Switzerland from their stay in Serbia.
Mandatory quarantine was a major obstacle for travelling to the homeland, due to work, because they would have to consider a ten-day quarantine when planning their trip.
