Baghdad: Ambassador Balov with the President of the Republic of Iraq

Ambassador Balov presented the President of Iraq with a message of congratulation sent by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, on the occasion of his assumption of office.

In his message, President Vučić thanked the President of Iraq for his country's wholehearted support for the territorial integrity and state sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and a firm position regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, as well as the unanimous vote against the admission of Kosovo to membership in international organizations.

President Rashid confirmed Iraq’s principled position and commitment to the basic principles of international law.

The President and the Ambassador assessed the bilateral relations between the two countries as extremely good and emphasised that the two nations have sixty-five years of traditionally good political and economic relations.

President Rashid thanked President Vučić and conveyed sincere greetings, agreeing with the Ambassador that it is extremely important to start preparations for visits at the highest state level as soon as possible.
