Beijing: Ambassador Stefanović at the China International Digital Economy Expo 2022

Ambassador Stefanović highlighted the strategic partnership between Serbia and China and the digital economy as its important segment.

“The development of the digital economy is one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia, and digital transformation will continue to be a key priority in the coming years, the ambassador said. She referred to the Serbian IT industry, which largely contributes to GDP growth and drives digital development. She pointed out that the Serbian IT sector has been recording growth for several years, and the export of IT services in 2021 amounted to 1.73 billion euros, which is an annual growth of 30%. Ambassador Stefanović emphasized that Serbia and China have successful cooperation in the field of digital economy, as well as that they are working together to promote the “Digital Silk Road”.

Forum participants included high officials of Hebei province, representatives of the embassies of Canada, Turkey, Maldives, as well as representatives of UNIDO, the Chinese Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Association for the Promotion of Science, Technology and Finance of China and others.

Forum participants exchanged opinions on new mechanisms of international cooperation in the era of digital economy and ways of further develop cross-border e-commerce, as well as integration of the digital and traditional economy.
