Berlin: Ambassador Janković meets with the foreign policy spokesperson for the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) parliamentary group in the Bundestag
The discussion topics were European integration of Serbia and the Western Balkans, regional relations and cooperation, as well as bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany with a focus on economic cooperation.
Dr. Schmid expressed support to Serbia's EU-accession process, especially given the geopolitical reasons that require the process to both intensify and accelerate. He expressed interest in improving parliamentary cooperation as well as other areas of the bilateral relations, especially economic ones, which are at a high level.
Ambassador Janković acquainted Dr. Schmid with the process of reform in Serbia, noting that the accession to the European Union was Serbia’s most important foreign policy goal.
Ambassador Janković also informed Dr. Schmid about the Belgrade–Priština dialogue as well as the "Open Balkans" initiative that aims at both improving regional cooperation and connecting the region to a prosperous and attractive market by introducing the freedoms of the European Union.
