Bucharest: Ambassador Tomašević met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Romanian Parliament
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current status of bilateral relations between Serbia and Romania, as well as possibilities for further development of cooperation in all areas, especially in the field of parliamentary cooperation, in the framework of which meetings and activities are expected to intensify.
Ambassador Tomašević thanked for Romania's principled position regarding Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for the support that Romania has provided within the process of Serbia's accession to the European Union. The Speaker of the House of Representatives Marcel Ciolacu assured that Romania would continue to support Serbia and that it was ready to provide additional assistance in order to accelerate Serbia's European path.
Both sides noted the close historical ties between the two countries and two peoples, and identified potentials for their further strengthening. The readiness to intensify efforts towards launching concrete activities and projects was expressed, which would raise the mutual relations and cooperation between Serbia and Romania to the level worthy of friendly and fraternal countries.
