Bucharest: Coverage of the Romanian national television TVR1 on the promotion of Serbian wines and brandies in Bucharest
In a report on Serbian wines and brandies, Romanian television stated that the Serbs were one of those peoples who cared a lot for their cultural and gastronomic traditions.
They point out that numerous Serbian vineyards are located at the same altitude as the famous vine plantations in Burgundy or Bordeaux, as well as that wine production is an economic sector that is on the rise in Serbia and records increasing contribution from year to year and nurtures autochthonous vine varieties.
„We have a great opportunity to present our best wines from all regions of Serbia.“ There are ten wineries and two distilleries present at the promotion with their best wines and brandies, which represent well-known Serbian products of exceptional quality. As regards Serbian wines, it is a growing industry in which winemakers from Serbia offer classic types of wine, as well as unusual, specific Serbian varieties," said Ambassador of Serbia to Romania Stefan Tomašević.
The report further states that, like Romania, which has its own famous wine varieties (vines) such as Feteasca Negra or Grasa de Cotnari, the Serbs also have reason to be proud of the wines they produce, such as Tamjanika, one of the most represented and the most valued varieties of white wine, or Prokupac, known among red wines.
„Wine has the gift of erasing ethnic barriers and creating friendships“. During a meeting in a restaurant, a dinner or a reception... what would be a good basis for starting communication between Romanians and Serbs? Well, wine of course! This is the role attributed to wine, to create friendships,“ said the Romanian host and owner of the place where the promotion was held.
