Djuric: Efforts to promote the relations between Serbia and the United States
Intensive working contacts with US administration officials focused on the further promotion of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America continued in Washington this week as well.
Djuric assessed the talks with the above high representatives of the executive power in the US administration, as well as with other officials responsible for our country and region, as extremely useful and substantive.
"I am pleased that, in a very short time since my arrival at the Embassy in Washington, my colleagues and I have managed to establish frequent and intensive contacts in the State Department as a key institution which shapes the United States' overall foreign policy approach to the whole world", Djuric said.
In addition to the high dynamic of meetings in the State Department, the Department of Defense, the Department of Commerce and other US institutions, there was a significant expansion of the Serbian Caucus in the United States Congress, which was joined by as many as seven congressmen in less than two months.
"I am particularly pleased with the fact that more and more congressmen, both democrats and republicans, are joining our Caucus in the US Congress. Our views are being heard and respected in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, owing to the open and constructive approach and path that was paved by our state leadership, led by President Aleksandar Vucic. Serbia's position has visibly strengthened in the eyes of the Americans, and it will continue to strengthen in the period ahead", Djuric added.
"It is a life's task to represent our country in Washington as the center of global politics. Colleagues at the Embassy and I will continue to make joint efforts and apply a proactive approach in order to contribute to the promotion of Serbia in the political, economic, cultural and all other spheres of cooperation, as well as to the all-round strengthening of bilateral relations with the United States", Djuric concluded.
