The Irish-Serbian Chamber of Commerce is starting its work

In her speech, the ambassador emphasized the good bilateral relations between Serbia and Ireland and conveyed the expectation that the newly established Chamber of Commerce will significantly contribute to the improvement of trade and investment potentials of the two countries. She pointed out that the establishment of the Irish-Serbian Chamber of Commerce is part of the broader activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at strengthening economic diplomacy.

Joksimović underlined Serbia's firm commitment to EU integration, thanking Ireland for its continued support in the process. She spoke about the advantages of doing business in Serbia and the efforts that the Government of Serbia is making to make the business environment even more attractive for foreign investments. As an additional advantage, she singled out the orientation of our economy towards the EU market, but also a number of free trade agreements concluded with other important partners.

Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney welcomed the launch of the Irish-Serbian Chamber of Commerce as a step towards further strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries and praised the efforts of Ambassador Joksimović and all others who contributed to the formation of the Chamber. He expressed the expectation that the Chamber will contribute to the improvement of trade relations, but also to the strengthening of direct ties between the two nations.

He praised the results that Serbia has achieved in the field of vaccination and especially singled out the solidarity that Serbia has shown towards its neighbors in the context of overcoming the pandemic. He underlined that Serbia and the Western Balkans region are part of Europe and as such should become part of the EU.
