Kuwait: Chargé d'Affaires Vidaković met with the Ambassador of Bahrain in Kuwait
With the mutual assessment that bilateral relations are on the rise, the concrete steps that need to be taken in the coming period were discussed in order to intensify primarily economic relations and cooperation.
Chargé d'Affaires Vidaković stated that the historic visit of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to Bahrain in March 2021, as well as the visit of the high delegation of Bahrain to Belgrade headed by Major General, Prince Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Head of the Supreme Council of the Government for Youth and Sports and the commander of the royal guard, which was organised a month after that, testify to the commitment of the Republic of Serbia to the development of partnership and friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Ms Vidaković pointed out that we highly appreciated that Sheikh Nasser's visit to the Republic of Serbia had been realised at a time of difficult challenges and problems caused by the global pandemic of Covid-19 at that time, which we consider an expression of Bahraini friendship.
The Charge d'Affaires particularly emphasised the interest in improving and expanding the economic cooperation between Serbia and Bahrain, both by increasing, for now, very modest foreign trade exchange, and through investment cooperation, primarily taking into account numerous advantages of investing in Serbia. We expect the intensification of cooperation in the field of economic, military cooperation, energy, tourism, agriculture and air transport.
Ambassador Al-Malki informed that Bahrain was particularly interested in the import of fresh fruits and vegetables from Serbia, with Chargé d'Affaires Vidaković proposing that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Kuwait, in the coming period, organise an online meeting of experts from the chambers of commerce of Serbia and Bahrain, thus laying the foundations for future cooperation, which Ambassador Al-Malki accepted.
They also discussed the successful cooperation on the multilateral level and the exchange of support for the two countries' candidacies in international organisations and bodies.
