Madrid: Exhibition „Nikola Tesla, Genius of Modern Electricity“ was opened

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Spain Katarina Lalić-Smajević, together with the entire diplomatic staff of the Embassy, attended the opening of the exhibition „Nikola Tesla, Genius of Modern Electricity“ in the Museum of „la Caixa“ Foundation (Fundación „la Caixa“) in Madrid, open until 8 January 2023.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition speeches were given by Minister of Science and Innovation of Spain Diana Morant, Corporate Director of culture and science of the „la Caixa“ Foundation Ignasi Miro and Director of the Nikola Tesla Museum Ivona Jevtić.

In her address, Minister Morant emphasised the importance of promoting science and scientists who have changed the world and emphasised that Serbia should be proud of its visionary, who left an exceptional and indelible mark on the global science.

In their speeches, Miro and Jevtić underlined the importance of cooperation between their two institutions, the „la Caixa“ Foundation and the „Nikola Tesla“ Museum, strengthened by the success of this exhibition in Barcelona, ​​with the potential for further strengthening.

Numerous complementary activities are planned, as well as conferences held by Spanish experts in the fields of science and art history every Monday in November, on the topic of the Serbian scientist.

The exhibition was previously held in the Museum of the „la Caixa“ Foundation in Barcelona, ​​where its headquarters are located, and after the exhibition in Madrid, it will travel further to Seville and Zaragoza.
