Prague: Serbian delegation at the „EU–Western Balkans: Smart Cities Economic Forum“
The main topics of the conference were: economic connectivity of the Western Balkan countries in the field of the Green Agenda and digitisation, EU policy towards the Western Balkans and financial tools for the implementation of smart cities, local strategies for smart city development - good examples, initiatives and projects that support smart city solutions in the Western Balkans.
The Serbian delegation consisted of the mayors and representatives of Belgrade, Niš, Kragujevac, Leskovac, Užice, Novi Pazar, Valjevo, Pirot and Kruševac.
On that occasion a reception at the Embassy of Serbia was organised for them.
In the conversation with the mayors, Ambassador Vekić pointed out the great possibilities of future economic cooperation with the Czech Republic and new investments by Czech companies in Serbia.
The mayors and the Ambassador agreed that local governments must be more agile in seeking potential new partners in order to boost trade between the two countries, together with Serbian companies and local governments, to a level over EUR 1.5 billion, which was a record achieved last year.
