Prague: Series on Serbian culture and gastronomy on Czech television
The program is conceived as a culinary-travel series from Serbia.
Famous Czech actor Miroslav Donutil and his team will visit various parts of Serbia and learn about local history, sights and, above all, cuisine. Through conversations with local hosts, artists and monks, the show will present gastronomy, cultural and historical sights, lifestyle, and local customs.
In eight 30-minute episodes, the team will visit more than 25 locations in Serbia, from Subotica, Pirot, Kuršumlija, and Belgrade as starting points.
They will also visit Czech villages in Banat, where the descendants of Czech settlers live, the so-called Banat Czechs (Czech: Pémové), who settled on the territory of Banat in the 19th century.
Viewers in the Czech Republic will have the opportunity to learn about the tradition of cultivation and harvesting of red peppers, including the production of ajvar . One episode will be devoted to the production of donkey milk and cheese, and production of honey and monastery brandy.
The series will also present the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad and Sremski Karlovci, as well as natural landmarks of exceptional importance, such as the nature reserve Đavolja varoš and Deliblatska peščara.
