Prague: Works of art from Serbia awarded at the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts
This exhibition, in which children from Serbia also participate, is being held for the 50th time this year under the auspices of the Czech Ministry of Culture, in memory of the child victims from Lidice murdered in World War II.
The exhibition was opened by Eduard Stehlík, Director of the Lidice Memorial. Award-winning children from Czech schools, representatives of Czech cultural institutions and the diplomatic corps were present.
This year, 316 works of art from 28 schools from Serbia were received, and the awards were given to works of art by children from elementary school “Vera Blagojević” from Banja Koviljača, Artino Art Studio from Belgrade, Piktum Association from Belgrade, First Belgrade Gymnasium, as well as schools from Kovin and Subotica.
Lepša Štulić invited the Director of the Lidice Memorial to visit the Embassy of Serbia in Prague, which he gladly accepted. It was agreed that on that occasion he would bring awards for Serbian children's works of art, to be forwarded to children in Serbia.
This year, 14,527 works of art from 77 countries were received on the given topic “Museum”, which makes this exhibition one of the largest fine arts events in Europe.
The works of art will be exhibited in the Lidice Gallery until 1 January 2023.
