Sofia: Ambassador Jović at the celebration of the Montana Municipality Day

In addition to attending a ceremony at the main town square and participating in and giving a speech at the ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly, Ambassador Jović met with Mayor Zlatko Zhivkov and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rositsa Kireva, as well as several Bulgarian Members of the Parliament from the Northwest region of Bulgaria.

Their talks highlighted the importance of building an adequate road infrastructure as soon as possible, so it would, together with opening new border crossing points, help with the recovery of border municipalities on both sides of the Serbia-Bulgaria border.

The importance of cross-border cooperation and the obligation to engage in joint activities in that regard was also emphasised.

They also stressed professionalism and dedication to the execution of (EU funded) cross-border projects shown by the Pirot Municipality and the Montana Municipality, which have so far completed 12 projects.
These events were also attended by representatives of the Pirot Municipality and the Medijana City Municipality of the City of Niš.
