Sofia: Ambassador Jović met with the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria
During the meeting, mutual readiness was reiterated not only to continue the existing cooperation, but also to expand it maximally.
Both sides agreed that mutual intensified engagement and strengthened cooperation are particularly important in a time when energy security is one of the key issues for the survival and development of any modern country.
The already operational Balkan Stream gas pipeline - which currently supplies both countries with much-needed natural gas, also provides them with a profit from transit taxes, has been cited by both sides as an important energy backbone which will be enhanced by the soon-to-be completed Serbia-Bulgaria and Bulgaria-Greece interconnectors will further diversify energy supply of the region thanks to links to the Azerbaijani natural gas fields, as well as to Greek LNG processing plants.
