Tokyo: Ambassador Kovač delivered a lecture at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies

The Ambassador Kovač spoke of history and cultural heritage of Serbia as well as the relations between Serbia and Japan, from the first official bilateral contacts until today. In the part reserved for questions and answers, students and citizens were interested to hear about the cultural differences between the two nations, among other things.

Before the lecture, the Ambassador met with the president of this educational institution Satoru Tanaka. The topics of the discussion comprised the possibilities for establishing cooperation with universities in Serbia, the academic exchange and deepening cooperation in terms of representing Serbia.

Since the Serbian language was introduced as an optional subject at the be City University of Foreign Studies this year, lead by of Slavonic professor Kaname Okan, possibilities for extending this program and increasing the number of students were also discussed at this meeting.

A separate social gathering was organized for the students of the Serbian language and the Ambassador took the used that occasion to thank them for their interest in Serbia and the Serbian language and invite them to visit our Embassy.
