Tokyo: Ambassador Kovač at the EU-Japan Fest General Committee meeting
The meeting was dedicated to presenting activities in the field of strengthening ties with the European Capitals of Culture and to presenting previous and current holders of this prestigious title and candidate cities. Members of the Committee, including the ambassadors from countries of the European Capitals of Culture and the management of Japanese corporations which support the EU-Japan Fest activities.
In her address, Ambassador Kovač promoted the election of Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture, as the first city from an EU candidate country.
She spoke about its concept and major projects, as well as about the awards previously won in Europe. She expressed her satisfaction that, despite the delay, the year in which the title is realised (2022) coincides with the celebration of important anniversaries - 140 years of friendship between Serbia and Japan and 30 years of the EU-Japan Fest.
Promotional and video messages sent by the Novi Sad 2022 team were broadcast at the event.
People present at the event expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Novi Sad and the wish to visit it.
