USA: Ambassador in talks with Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation
Ambassador Djuric pointed out that Serbia highly valued the fact that the DFC management had chosen Belgrade as the seat of its regional office, and that this sent a clear signal that our country is perceived as the political and economic pillar of the Balkans and a country with a key role for the prosperity of the entire region.
Djuric stated that the existence of the DFC Office in Belgrade demonstrated the commitment of the United States to the further development of bilateral economic cooperation with Serbia.
In addition to supporting the development of infrastructure, the planned support to small and medium-sized enterprises through guarantee schemes and credit lines of commercial banks is also important for us.
Touching upon the trend of growth of the IT sector and the export of our services to the United States, Ambassador Djuric expressed hope that our export of services would soon exceed the total volume of foreign trade in goods with the United States.
Djuric also expressed his belief that further work and overall engagement of the DFC Office in Belgrade would create conditions for expanding the network of investment activities of the United States and US companies in the entire region.
