Jovanović confers with Head of EU Mission and Representatives of Quint Embassies
During the meeting, views were exchanged on recent developments in Kosovo and Metohija, including the recent arrest of the Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Igor Popović, by the authorities in Pristina.
In this context, Jovanović expressed concern over the continued activities of the provisional institutions in Pristina, which contribute to further escalation of tensions and undermine efforts to preserve peace and stability on the ground.
She emphasized the expectation that the international community, particularly partners from the EU and Quint countries, will show full understanding of the positions of the Republic of Serbia and respond appropriately to the unilateral and destabilizing actions of the other side.
In addition to the new Head of the EU Mission to the Republic of Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath, the meeting was attended by the Chargés d’Affaires of the embassies of the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Italy, and Germany.
