Jovanović confers with Head of UNMIK

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, today received Caroline Ziadeh, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (UNMIK), on her farewell visit.

On this occasion, Ms. Ziadeh informed those present about the current situation on the ground and about UNMIK’s activities aimed at preserving peace and stability. She expressed her sincere gratitude for the support of the Government of Serbia during her mandate, voicing hope that the successful and intensive cooperation with the Mission would continue in the future.

The State Secretary thanked her counterpart for her personal engagement and efforts invested in the functioning of the Mission under complex circumstances, wishing her success and all the best in her upcoming post.

She reaffirmed our side’s continued readiness for cooperation, particularly underscoring the firm support of the Government of Serbia for the continuation of UNMIK’s engagement within its current mandate in terms of scope and budget. Ms. Jovanović reiterated our strong commitment to the continued holding of regular UN Security Council sessions on UNMIK’s work at the existing pace and in an open format.
