The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Nevena Jovanović, participated in the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Ministerial Meeting held in Dubrovnik.

In her remarks, the State Secretary reaffirmed Serbia’s support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, emphasizing that Serbia advocates for peace, the pursuit of a sustainable solution, and the consistent respect of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

She noted that Serbia has so far provided various forms of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and has opened its doors to a significant number of Ukrainian nationals who sought refuge in Serbia following the outbreak of the conflict.

Jovanović underlined that Ukraine can always count on Serbia’s support and recalled that Ukraine extended assistance to Serbia in the aftermath of the 1999 NATO bombing—an act of solidarity that Serbia does not forget.

On the margins of the meeting, the State Secretary held a brief conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, during which she reiterated Serbia’s support in line with the abovementioned principles.
