Jović confers with Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Damjan Jović, met with the Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Ambassador Asad Alam Siam, on the margins of the Doha Forum in Qatar.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on opportunities to further enhance economic cooperation. In this context, Jović expressed his appreciation for Bangladesh’s confirmed participation in the upcoming Expo 2027, which will be hosted by Serbia.

Jović also underscored the importance of respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity with regard to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, as fundamental principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and international law.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of education, including the possibility of increasing the number of Serbian Government scholarships for students from Bangladesh who wish to pursue their studies in Serbia.
