Kozarev confers with the Ambassador of Cambodia

23. Dec 2025.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dušan Kozarev, met today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Tan Bunpa, who briefed him on the clashes along the Cambodian–Thailand** border, as well as on the diplomatic engagement of major powers and regional organisations aimed at de-escalating the situation.

Kozarev emphasised that Serbia is firmly committed to the peaceful settlement of disputes, respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations, particularly with regard to the inviolability of the borders of UN Member States. He underscored the importance of an urgent cessation of all violent actions and the initiation of a negotiating process, and offered humanitarian assistance to address the needs of the affected civilian population.

He expressed gratitude to Cambodia for its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, stressing that this is a principle to which Serbia itself consistently adheres.

Highlighting the friendly relations between Serbia and Cambodia, the interlocutors voiced regret that current developments have overshadowed issues of mutual interest, such as strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy and education, as well as plans for Cambodia’s participation in the international exhibition Expo 2027 in Belgrade.
