Minister Selaković has held talks with the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea
Minister Selaković pointed out that the two countries are bound by traditional friendship, and that it is the duty of new generations of politicians to renew and develop that friendship.
On this occasion, Minister Selaković also thanked the state leadership of Equatorial Guinea for the fact that that country was represented at a high level at last year's gathering of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade, which was a valuable preparation for the first bilateral visit of the foreign minister of the Republic of Serbia to this Central African country.
Minister Selaković informed his interlocutor, whose competencies include, among other things, defense and security policy, with the capacities of the Serbian defense industry and Serbia's position as a military neutral country. He added that there is interest in improving cooperation in the field of defense and security, military education, military medicine, as well as police cooperation.
Cooperation in the field of defense and security includes the exchange and transfer of experiences as well as training of military and police personnel, and Serbia will, in accordance with its capabilities and capacities, provide all possible assistance to Equatorial Guinea in the fight against the problems it is facing, including piracy, Minister Selaković said.
According to Minister Selaković, good political relations, commitment to the same values, support of Equatorial Guinea for the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, are an excellent basis for strengthening bilateral cooperation at all levels.
Minister Selaković also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the number of scholarships that our country awards to foreign students within the World in Serbia program has doubled, and that a significantly larger number of students from Equatorial Guinea applied for the program.
