Spouse of the President of Serbia Tamara Vucic confers with the Ambassador of Japan
In the talks between the spouse of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Tamara Vucic, and the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Serbia, Akira Imamura, both parties noted that the geographical distance between the two countries had never been an obstacle to building and fostering friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Serbian side pointed out that the Serbian and Japanese peoples stood by each other even in difficult moments, which was a particularly important dimension of our friendly relations of more than 140 years.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction at the fact that Japanese investors recognized the advantages of doing business in the Republic of Serbia, and that there was a mutual interest in further investment by renowned Japanese companies on the Serbian market in numerous areas.
Ambassador Akira Imamura reminded that the Japanese city of Osaka would be the host of the prestigious EXPO 2025 event and expressed the hope that the Republic of Serbia would present itself to the world public in the best possible way, especially in light of Belgrade's preparations to host the EXPO 2027 World Exhibition.
The collocutors agreed that the Serbian and Japanese peoples had great respect for one another while sharing an interest in getting to know the culture and traditions of each other’s countries, and noted that there was a readiness to continue organizing convenient events in both countries, in order to showcase their rich traditions and potentials.
