State Secretary Starović speaks with the Director General of the NATO International Military Staff
During the meeting, the two interlocutors exchanged their views on the present situation and prospects for further development of partnership cooperation between Serbia and NATO, the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the activities of the NATO KFOR mission and the current regional, European, and global security issues.
State Secretary Starović expressed satisfaction with the ongoing dialogue between Serbia’s representatives and officials of the NATO's political and military structures, which contributed to a better mutual understanding, in particular when it came to the most relevant issues, both for Serbia and stability in the region.
It was particularly stressed that Serbia supported and highly appreciated efforts of the International Security Force (KFOR) in the Province to carry out the mandate ― which had been defined and delegated to KFOR pursuant to the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 ― in a strict, comprehensive, and impartial way, with a view to establishing a stable and secure environment and freedom of movement for all.
It was mutually agreed that Serbia and the NATO had a joint commitment to further improve partnership in cooperation in all areas of common interest and to preserve peace and stability in the region.
