Đurić: The Conference in Riyadh is an excellent opportunity to promote Serbia and build new partnerships in the field of modern technologies
“Serbia is undoubtedly one of the most attractive investment destinations—not only in the Balkans but, I would say, in the entire Southeast Europe— given our central geographic position, our vast pool of talent, and our comprehensive regulatory framework that enables the creation of scientific and technological ecosystems unlike those found in many other European countries. We can take pride in the fact that Serbia’s economy is now structured in such a way that new technologies are surpassing agriculture in their contribution to GDP, while at the same time we are a country that hosts state-of-the-art data centers, such as the one in Kragujevac, a state-owned facility used by some of the world’s largest companies. It is no coincidence that global leaders such as Microsoft, Oracle, and even automotive innovators like Rivian are developing their products in Serbia—because we offer both talent and a regulatory environment that makes this possible,” Minister Đurić emphasized.
He added that Serbia will continue to harness technology, knowledge, and science as tools to bridge the gap between itself and the most developed countries, stressing that participation in this forum is not only an opportunity to showcase Serbia’s potential but also to build new partnerships, identify emerging trends, and position Serbia in the best possible way.
Minister Đurić noted that among Serbia’s younger generation, academic institutions, and scientific community there are individuals who are recognized as world-class experts, and that Serbia’s development opportunity lies in the vigorous application of science and technology across all sectors of society.
“The conference is also an excellent venue for a range of meetings, such as the one held with the Chief Executive Officer of Expo 2030 Riyadh, where we discussed models of partnership cooperation to ensure the greatest possible success of both Expo 2027 in Belgrade and Expo 2030 in Riyadh,” the Minister said.
Đurić concluded by expressing his satisfaction with the overall development of relations between Serbia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with the opportunity to present Serbia as it truly is— a country at the forefront of modern technology development and implementation.
