Đurić confers with NATO Assistant Secretary General Boris Ruge
Minister Đurić underscored Serbia’s commitment to further enhancing its partnership cooperation with NATO across all areas of mutual interest, as well as in fields that contribute to the stability and development of the region.
He reiterated Serbia’s concern regarding the activities of Zagreb, Tirana, and Priština, and the conclusion of their latest agreement, which, in Serbia’s assessment, goes beyond mere military-technical cooperation. He stressed that Serbia is closely monitoring these developments and pointed out that such decisions do not contribute to regional stability.
Đurić emphasized that the engagement of KFOR is essential for preserving security in Kosovo and Metohija and throughout the broader region. He added that Serbia expects KFOR, in accordance with its mandate, to continue acting in order to prevent any deterioration of the security situation on the ground and to protect the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija, which is facing an exceptionally difficult position due to what he described as repressive measures by Priština.
The Minister reaffirmed that Serbia remains committed to dialogue as the only viable path toward ensuring lasting peace and stability in the region. He noted that Priština’s restraint from unilateral actions and provocations constitutes a prerequisite for the resumption of dialogue, which requires the support of the international community, including NATO.
As the head of Serbian diplomacy concluded, Serbia will continue to build its position as a responsible, reliable, and predictable partner of NATO, with the aim of advancing shared interests and safeguarding peace and stability in the region.
