Đurić meets with President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with Rolando González Patricio, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as its readiness to further enhance these relations.

He noted that Serbia continues to intensify its efforts to establish and build institutional cooperation with regional organizations in that part of the world, which serve as important platforms for dialogue and the exchange of views across various fields.

With regard to bilateral cooperation, Minister Đurić underlined that Serbia maintains traditionally good and friendly relations with the countries of the region, adding that Serbia will continue to build on this positive trend with partners who, although geographically distant, remain close and important to us.

He expressed Serbia’s deep appreciation for the position of many countries in the region in upholding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as well as for their consistent respect for the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Specialised Expo 2027, Minister Đurić conveyed his expectation that the flags of the countries from this region will be flying in Belgrade during this prestigious event.

Minister Đurić also thanked the President of the Latin American Parliament for the lecture he delivered at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of his visit to Serbia.

During today’s meeting, which was also attended by the Ambassador of Cuba to Serbia, H.E. Leyde Ernesto Rodríguez Hernández, Minister Đurić received congratulations from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, on the occasion of his new mandate as Serbia’s top diplomat.
