The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Djuric met today in Luxembourg with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, after an informal meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the EU member states and representatives of the Western Balkan region.

Minister Djuric expressed satisfaction with the frequency and continuity of meetings with high officials of the European Union, stressing that this is an opportunity for Serbia's voice to be heard, and that no one has a dilemma that our country remains committed to the European path and that full membership in the EU is a strategic commitment and priority of our foreign policy.

In a conversation with the European Commissioner, the Head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out once again the extremely difficult situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija who face political disenfranchisement and violation of the basic human rights by Pristina day after day.

Also, according to his words, Pristina's unwillingness to facilitate the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities shows that there is no essential interest in dialogue on that side.

During today's meeting, the interlocutors referred to current security and political topics and issues of importance for regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
