24. Jul 2024.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric participated today in Rome in a panel organized by the Italian Institute of International Affairs, as part of his two-day official visit to Italy.

Addressing the academic community, diplomats, students and persons taking part in political life in Italy, Minister Djuric pointed out the key domestic and foreign policy priorities of the new Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The Minister said that the further strengthening of economy is placed high on the agenda of our country – the construction of new highways and railways, infrastructure, investment in the IT sector and digitalization being the most important directions of the country’s further economic progress.

Speaking about foreign policy goals, the Serbian Foreign Minister stated that Serbia will be ready to become a full member of the EU by 2027, and at the same time expressed his gratitude to Italy for supporting our country on its European path.

The Minister emphasized that Serbia will remain a pillar of peace and stability in the region, but that, on the other hand, the support of the international community at the highest level is needed when it comes to the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and the implementation of agreements reached within the Brussels dialogue.
