28. May 2024.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djurić had a telephone conversation today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky in which the good relations between the two countries were highlighted.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy pointed out that Serbia and the Czech Republic have been bound by long-standing friendly relations, both at the political level and in other areas of interstate cooperation.

Minister Djuric expressed gratitude for the support offered by the Czech Republic to Serbia on its path towards full-fledged membership in the European Union, assessing that it is of great importance in the accession process.

Speaking about the current political events in the world, Minister Djurić said that Serbia wants to play a constructive role and that it will always be a reliable partner to the international community, as well as that one of the main goals of our country is the preservation of peace and stability in the region.

In this context, the Head of Serbian diplomacy indicated that, due to many recent events and unilateral moves of the so-called Kosovo authorities, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina did not progress. He emphasized that the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija suffer various pressures every day, as well as that the Pristina side has still not fulfilled what was agreed upon in the agreements, primarily the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

The two interlocutors indicated that, although Serbia and the Czech Republic do not always have the same views on certain issues, this is not an obstacle to good relations between the two countries and peoples. They expressed the hope that the practice of holding political consultations between the two ministries will be continued, with the aim of building even closer relations of cooperation and trust.
