Đurić: We will continue to develop the Serbian-Italian strategic partnership

30. Jan 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, stated this evening that he expects the strategic partnership between Serbia and Italy to continue to strengthen and develop in 2025, a commitment that will be reaffirmed by the upcoming visit of the Vice President of the Italian Government and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

"I extend my gratitude to all those who tirelessly work on fostering and enhancing these relations, including the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, Confindustria, and the individual entrepreneurs who fortify a traditional brotherhood and partnership, which I believe forms a robust axis for the development of Southeast Europe," Đurić declared at the formal assembly of the Association of Italian Businessmen in Serbia, "Confindustria Serbia".

Đurić congratulated the attendees on the economic cooperation outcomes achieved between Serbia and Italy, reminding that the past year was successful by many economic measures, and expressed anticipation for this year to be extraordinary in terms of direct foreign investments and overall economic growth.

"Global, sometimes regional and local circumstances are not always straightforward. However, I can assert that Serbia is a land of opportunities, a land of diligent, hardworking people, a country that strives to ensure that companies operating within it have the best possible environment, the best possible incentives from the state system," Đurić stated.

The head of Serbian diplomacy highlighted our comparative advantage, noting that Serbia, thanks to its balanced multivector foreign policy, is one of the countries with the largest network of free trade agreements.

"Serbia is a country firmly on its path to EU membership. We are profoundly grateful to the Italian leadership for their consistent, friendly, and fraternal support to Serbia on various issues of vital national and state interest. I would remind that, even as this Confindustria assembly takes place in Belgrade, Italian soldiers are safeguarding Serbian monasteries like the Visoki Dečani in Kosovo and Metohija," Minister Đurić said.
