Minister Dacic receives the newly-appointed Ambassador of Slovakia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic today received a courtesy call from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Serbia Michal Pavuk.

In an open and cordial conversation, the parties agreed that bilateral relations between the two countries were traditionally very good and friendly. The collocutors said they were pleased their countries maintained exceptional political relations and noted that the two sides needed to work on - and were ready for - stepping up bilateral political dialogue at all levels.

Minister Dacic pointed out that we particularly highly valued Slovakia's principled support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia. He thanked the Slovak Republic for its continued support for the EU integration of Serbia as well as for its understanding for Serbia's positions on continuing the process.

Ambassador Pavuk emphasized that he would also personally engage in terms of the further maintenance of excellent political relations between our two countries, as well as in strengthening the political dialogue and increasing the number of mutual visits at different levels. He stated that Slovakia would continue to provide firm support for the European integration of the Republic of Serbia in the future. He was pleased to point out that he hoped that persons belonging to the Slovak national minority would continue to be an integral part of our relations.

It was noted that there were ample opportunities to further strengthen all forms of cooperation in areas of mutual importance, especially in the economy and at the multilateral level.
