Minister Đurić confers with the German Ambassador

15. May 2025.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met today with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia, Anke Konrad.

Minister Đurić emphasized that Serbia remains committed to further strengthening and advancing its cooperation with Germany, building on existing foundations and continuing through regular high-level and top-level political dialogue, including with the new German government.

Expressing his confidence that the Western Balkans, regional cooperation, and continued contributions to the region’s stabilization and European integration will remain a priority on the agenda of Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s government, the Minister underlined that Serbia will continue to be a reliable and responsible partner to Germany in this part of Europe.

With regard to bilateral economic relations, the Serbian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the exceptionally well-developed cooperation in all key sectors of the economy, particularly highlighting Germany’s position as one of the largest investors in Serbia.

Minister Đurić conveyed grave concern over the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, which has further escalated as a result of the latest unilateral and provocative actions of the authorities in Priština.

“An attack on key public utility companies and water supply facilities is an attack on the very life and survival of the Serbian people in our southern province,” the Minister stressed, deeming it unacceptable that, in just the past three days, the Kurti administration has carried out two violent incursions into facilities of vital importance, thereby jeopardizing the functioning of the entire communal, infrastructural, healthcare, and educational system in the north of Kosovo and Metohija.
