Minister Đurić meets with Foreign Minister of the Marshall Islands

In Nuku'alofa, the capital of the Kingdom of Tonga hosting the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić met with Kalani Kaneko, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Highlighting that the foreign policy of our country was aimed at forging and fostering friendships in all corners of the world, Minister Đurić stated that Serbia considered the Pacific nations important actors on the global stage, and that it sought to be a bridge of cooperation between the Pacific region and Europe.

An intensive political dialogue and development of overall cooperation with the Marshall Islands will be, as he pointed out, the course we will strive for in the future of our bilateral relations.

According to Minister Đurić, a special potential for concrete cooperation with the Marshall Islands existed in the domain of economy, while the field of agriculture was also very promising, in terms of the transfer of knowledge related to the use of new technologies.

Reminding his interlocutor that Serbia was selected to host the "Expo" international exhibition, which will be held in Belgrade from May to August 2027, Minister Đurić pointed out that the Marshall Islands will be a welcome guest at that event, and expressed the hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome their delegation in as large a number as possible.
