During his visit to the Netherlands, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić, met with Christophe Kamp, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

Minister Đurić emphasized Serbia's high regard for the role and support of the OSCE in fulfilling our reform agenda and improving the lives of our citizens. He highlighted the significance of the longstanding and fruitful cooperation with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

Minister Đurić expressed that our country is deeply committed to the protection and continuous enhancement of the individual and collective rights of national minorities residing within its territory. Despite implementing one of the most progressive laws on the rights of national minorities, Serbia consistently works on enhancing the institutional and legal frameworks and their effective implementation.

The head of Serbian diplomacy particularly pointed out that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, despite living in their sovereign state, are continually faced with serious pressures and denials of basic human rights due to unilateral actions by Pristina.

In light of the upcoming elections in Kosovo and Metohija, Đurić also noted in the meeting that the number of Serbs on the electoral rolls has decreased by thousands between electoral cycles.

Addressing the numerous unilateral moves by the interim authorities in Pristina, Minister Đurić underscored that Serbs are being denied the right to receive salaries, pensions, social benefits, and other earnings.

Emphasizing that Serbia aims to be a reliable partner in the international community and a factor of stability, and expressing Serbia's readiness to continue its robust cooperation with the OSCE, Đurić stated that we would value further engagement of the High Commissioner in ensuring adequate protection of the individual and collective rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the further improvement of the rights of Serbs in the region.
