Safe return of Serbian citizens evacuated from Israel
On this occasion, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Damjan Jović, traveled to Egypt to provide the necessary assistance to our citizens during this urgent evacuation.
"Tonight, we successfully completed the evacuation of our nationals who were in the State of Israel—first by land to the Egyptian border, and then onward to the airport in Sharm El Sheikh, where we coordinated their boarding with Air Serbia. Our citizens have now safely arrived from Tel Aviv," stated Jović from Egypt.
He emphasized that this operation demonstrates the state's responsibility toward its citizens, and highlighted the importance of Serbia having a strong national airline it can rely on in times of crisis.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue its efforts to evacuate all our citizens wishing to leave both the State of Israel and the Islamic Republic of Iran, where the situation is even more difficult. You can expect that, in the coming days, we will ensure the safe return home of every Serbian citizen who wishes to come back," Jović affirmed.
Tonight’s evacuation brought thirty-eight individuals to Belgrade, most of whom are Serbian citizens, along with several foreign nationals.
