Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selaković, began his two-day visit to Poland with meetings in the lower house of the Polish parliament, the Sejm, where he had separate meetings with Sejm speaker Elżbieta Witek and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Marek Kuchciński.

It was stated during the talks that bilateral relations are traditionally very good and friendly, and it was jointly assessed that there is potential for their further improvement.

Selaković thanked Poland for its support for Serbia's European integration and underlined that full membership in the Union is an absolute foreign policy priority of our country.

The head of Serbian diplomacy informed his interlocutors about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, emphasizing that Serbia is fully committed to continuing the dialogue as the only right way to reach a sustainable compromise agreement.

Selaković also pointed to 13 attacks on Serbian churches and monasteries in Kosovo and Metohija this year alone.

The Minister also informed his interlocutors about the reform activities and economic successes of Serbia, as well as the investment potentials of our country. He emphasized that Serbia wants to strengthen the economic cooperation with Poland and increase foreign trade and the level of Polish investments.

Talking about parliamentary cooperation, the interlocutors assessed that there is room for its improvement. They pointed out that in the current convocation of the National Assembly of Serbia, there is a Polish Friendship Group, which has 25 members, and that there is a Polish-Balkan parliamentary group in the Sejm, but that it is necessary to intensify contacts between parliamentarians.

Also, the interlocutors exchanged experiences on the fight of their countries against the corona virus, expressing hope that this global challenge will be overcome soon, as well as that we will cope with all its consequences.
