Jončić Attends Opening of “Serbia Is Calling You” Camp

Assistant Minister for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Miloš Jončić, together with other representatives of the Ministry, attended today the opening of the “Serbia Is Calling You” sports and educational camp, held from 1 to 11 August at the Patriarch Pavle Secondary School Students’ Dormitory in Belgrade. This year, the camp brings together approximately four hundred young participants of Serbian origin from the diaspora, the region, and Kosovo and Metohija.

The camp was officially opened by Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Prof. Dr Đuro Macut, who emphasised that the event serves as a reminder that Serbia is not merely the country of one's ancestry, but a home to which one can always return. He reaffirmed that maintaining strong ties with Serbian communities around the world remains an enduring priority of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The “Serbia Is Calling You” camp is being held for the seventh consecutive year under the patronage of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić. Since its inception, the initiative has also enjoyed the support of Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dušan Kozarev.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Minister without Portfolio responsible for monitoring developments, proposing measures and coordinating activities in the field of relations between the Republic of Serbia and the diaspora Đorđe Milićević.
