The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Marko Đurić met today with Minister in the Presidency of the Republic of Namibia Charles Mubita, who headed his country’s delegation at the High-Level Commemorative Meeting marking the 65th anniversary of the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.

Đurić said that it had been an honour and a pleasure to host countries with which Serbia shares the universal values of the Non-Aligned Movement, values that remain as relevant today as ever.

He emphasised that Serbia takes pride in its traditional friendship with the countries of Africa and remains firmly committed to further advancing and deepening its overall cooperation with Namibia.

Đurić expressed his confidence that intensified political dialogue and the exchange of visits at the high and highest levels would provide fresh impetus to the further development of overall cooperation between the two countries.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasised that Serbia highly appreciates the Republic of Namibia’s support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, which reaffirms Namibia’s commitment to international law and the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

Turning to economic cooperation, Đurić expressed Serbia’s interest in making additional efforts to enhance bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. He also expressed satisfaction with the successful implementation of the “World in Serbia” programme, under which students from Namibia are pursuing their studies in Serbia.

Minister Đurić said that he looked forward to once again welcoming a Namibian delegation to Belgrade next year for the Specialised Expo 2027.
