Beijing: Ambassador Stefanović at Press Conference of Sinofarm Company

Upon invitation of the president of the Sinofarm Company Liu Jingzhen, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Beijing Maja Stefanović participated at the press conference organized on the occasion of success achieved by the Sinofarm company, i.e. the Company’s inclusion into the list of the most successful companies in the world according to the "Fortune Global 500" rating. Sinofarm was ranked 80th among the most successful companies globally and was the first pharmaceutical company on the list.

In her presentation, Ambassador Maja Stefanović reiterated Serbia's gratitude for help and donations that the Government of the People's Republic of China, and especially Chinese citizens, sent to Serbia to support us in fighting fight against Covid-19.

The Ambassador highlighted the most important elements of Serbia's cooperation with this Company and stated that the help, i.e. the Company's decision to approve the purchase of vaccines to Serbia at friendly prices at the most critical moment of the pandemics saved many human lives.

Stefanović stated that until that moment Sinofarm had delivered six million vaccines to Serbia, as well as that Serbia was the first country in Europe to carry out immunization of the population with Sinofarm vaccines.

Ambassador Maja Stefanović expressed the expectation that the successful previous cooperation would continue and expand through the implementation of common projects, where she singled out the expected opening of a factory for the production of vaccines in Serbia, pursuant to the agreement between Serbia, China and the United Arab Emirates.

 The ambassadors of Argentina, Peru, Egypt and Pakistan also participated in the conference. In addition to the congratulatory letters of the presidents of Argentina and Peru, the congratulatory letter of the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabić addressed to the Sinofarm Company on the occasion of the mentioned success was read.
